Back at the Palladium for @jesuschristsuperstar again, this time from the audience view rather than on stage, with a new Herod (Richard Armitage). The spectacle and experience is very different and I prefer the on stage experience. Being so close to the actors and musicians is truly magical and the sound and music are more vivid.
Sam Ryder was on point vocally and nails Gethsemane, which led to a prolonged standing ovation. Tyrone Huntley delivers as Judas and special shout out to David Thaxton's Pontius Pilate, full of anger, frustration and pity.
Armitage plays a very different Herod from Jesse Tyler Ferguson, full of theatrics and humour with plenty of camp.
