Тин, вот тебе кое-что о Халдире, чтобы слишком долго не копаться. Копирую и размещай на своём сайте.
Haldir

For the uninitiated, Haldir is an Elf, and features in J.R.R. Tolkien's epic novel The Lord of the Rings. The recent movie adaptations of the book featured the Marchwarden of Lorien in two very brief appearances. Haldir's character was portrayed in the first two films of the trilogy by the New Zealand actor Craig Parker.
Canonically, Haldir is a character without a background. Tolkien reveals little about his life or family, and little can be garnered from other official sources. What is known to us is that Haldir is a guardian of Lothlòrien, the Golden Wood, home of Lord Celeborn and Lady Galadriel. He has two known brothers, Rúmil and Orophin, who also patrol the borders of the wood. The Encyclopedia of Arda lists him simply as "a marchwarden of the Galadhrim of Lórien, who guarded its northern borders... When the Fellowship arrived there after fleeing Moria, he became their guide and led them to Caras Galadhon."

He is featured in three chapters of the first volume of the trilogy, The Fellowship of the Ring, namely Chapter 6, Lothlòrien, Chapter 7, The Mirror of Galadriel and Chapter 8, Farewell to Lòrien. In his capacity as guide to the Fellowship, Haldir enjoys some lively debate with Gimli over the matter of blindfolds, and has some beautiful musings on his love for his home. It is commonly believed that Haldir is the one who gives Sam his Elven rope, but an examination of the text reveals that it is not specified which Elf does so.

Haldir is not mentioned again in the novels, but some fans speculate he is one of Celeborn and Galadriel's party in Return of the King, who travel to Minas Tirith from Lòrien for Aragorn and Arwen's marriage. Further, he might also be among the "High Kindred" who make the final journey with Elrond and Galadriel to the Havens.

As most fans will know, in the movies, Haldir has a fabulously haughty manner and biting wit. A closer examination of Movie Haldir reveals he carries a bow similar to those of his brothers, and a sword similar in design to Gwemegil, Elrond's sword, though Haldir's is more slender and curved. In a departure from canon, the Marchwarden arrives at Helm's Deep with a company of Elf archers in The Two Towers. Due to a whim of the screenwriters, his life is then tragically cut short by an orc-axe during the fighting, providing one of the most poignant and heart-rending moments of the film.

The other Haldir

Most fans will be surprised to learn that there are actually two Haldirs in the annals of Tolkien's work. The other Haldir was Lord of the Haladin of Brethil; he fostered his nephews Húrin and Huor during their childhood years, and was slain in the Nirnaeth Arnoediad. So there you go.

Haldir... some words

Book
"Welcome! We seldom use any tongue but our own; for we dwell now in the heart of the forest, and do not willingly have dealings with any other folk... But there are those of us still who go abroad for the gathering of news and the watching of our enemies... I am one. Haldir is my name."

"We had not heard of - hobbits, or halflings, for many a long year, and did not know that any yet dwelt in Middle-earth. You do not look evil! And since you are come with an Elf of our kindred, we are willing to befriend you, as Elrond asked; though it not our custom to lead strangers through our land."

"There was something in this tree that I have never seen before. It was not an orc. It fled as soon as I touched the tree-stem."

"A strong company of Orcs has passed. They crossed the Nimrodel - curse their foul feet in its clean water! - and went on down the old road beside the river."

"You cannot go back. Now you have come thus far, you must be brought before the Lord and the Lady. They will judge you, to hold you or to give you leave, as they will."

"Indeed in nothing is the power of the Dark Lord more clearly shown than in the estrangement that divides all those who still oppose him. Yet so little faith and trust do we find now in the world beyond Lothlòrien, unless maybe in Rivendell, that we dare not by our own trust endanger our land. We live now on an island amid many perils, and our hands are more often upon the bowstring than upon the harp."

"Some speak of departing, yet for that it already seems too late... Even if we could come to the shores of the Sea, we should find no longer any shelter there. It is said that there are still havens of the High Elves, but they are far to the north and west, beyond the land of the Halflings."

"Happy folk are Hobbits to dwell near the shores of the sea! It is long indeed since any of my folk have looked on it, yet still we remember it."

"The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places; but still there is much that is fair, and though in all lands love is now mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater. Some there are among us who sing that the Shadow will draw back, and peace will come again. Yet I do not believe that the world about us will ever again be as it was of old, or the light of the Sun as it was aforetime. For the Elves, I fear, it will prove at best a truce, in which they may pass to the Sea unhindered and leave the Middle-earth forever. Alas for Lothlòrien that I love! It would be a poor life in a land where no mallorn grew. But if there are mallorn-trees beyond the Great Sea, none have reported it."

"Behold! You are come to Cerin Amroth... Here ever bloom the winter flowers in the unfading grass: the yellow elanor, and the pale niphredil."

"I have returned from the Northern Fences, and I am sent now to be your guide again. The Dimrill Dale is full of vapour and clouds of smoke, and the mountains are troubled. There are noises in the deeps of the earth. If any of you had thought of returning northwards to your homes, you would not have been able to pass that way."

Movie - The Fellowship of the Ring
"The dwarf breathes so loud we could have shot him in the dark."

"You have entered the Realm of the Lady of the Wood. You cannot go back. Come, she is waiting."

"Mae Govannen, Legolas Thranduilion."

"A, Aragorn in Dunedain. Istannen le ammen."

"We have not had dealings with the Dwarves since the dark days"

"You bring great evil with you. You can go no further."

"You will follow me."

"Caras Galadhon, the heart of Elvendom on Earth. Home of the Lord Celeborn and of Galadriel, Lady of Light"

The Two Towers
"I bring word from Elrond of Rivendell. An alliance once existed between Elves and Men. Long ago we fought and died together. We come to honour that allegiance"

"We are proud to fight alongside Men once more"
