BOROMIR'S SUPERSTART or THE MURDER IN PARTH GALEN

FRODO (alone)
FRODO: I only want to say
If there was a way
I'd let this cup away from me
But I don't want to taste its poison
They – they seem inspired
But I'm sad and tired
Surely I won't come up to expectations
My strength is almost through,
Still so much left to do
After all I've tried for half a year
Seems like half an age
Why, why should I die?
They can't expect me to defeat the Lord!
The Shire saved – is that my reward?
Why am I so scared to finish what I started?
No I didn't start it…
Who knows who started?
Oh, that Quest is hard
And He holds every card
I wish I could go now
Before they try to change my mind
Enter BOROMIR
BOROMIR: Frodo, I'm so happy to meet you face to face!
I've been searching long for you all around the place!
Frodo!!!
I beg you to believe
Trust me as I trust you
You surely can't believe
Their wild hope is true
And all the good we've done
Will soon be swept away
There are things that matter more
Than the things they say -
Listen Frodo, I don't like what I see
All I ask is that you listen to me
And remember - I've been your friend all along
They say that you can reach the Fire,
They say that you can save the Shire -
But you must admit they may be wrong!
Please remember - since this whole thing began,
All our hope has been the valour of Men;
And believe me - while they talk, we stand and fight!
And every word they say today
Gets twisted round some other way
They don't care if we lived or died!
Those Wizards, Elves and all
Will lose nothing if we fall -
They can sail to their West,
They don't care for your Quest!
I don't think you want to be their doll!
Listen Frodo, they're of different race,
And they cannot put themselves in our place!
They can seem so wise and proud -
But we are getting much too loud,
And He'll crush us if you go that far!
Listen Frodo to the warning I give
Please remember that I want us to live
But it's sad to see our chances weakening with every hour!
I hope that you will not be blind
I hope you will make up your mind -
You must see that what we lack is power,
All we need is power!!!
* * *
Frodo what must I do now to convince you,
That if we use it we'll be easily as strong
As the Mordor filth who hate our countries
And who've terrorised all peoples for so long!
* * *
I want to help you - I hope that you see -
This whole kind of thing was coming hard to me,
It's taken me some time to work out what to do,
I weighed the whole thing up before I came to you!
The things that you have done deserve a good reward
I hope you'll let it go on your own accord!
You're free, and I'm
Praised for all time!!!
Why am I a prophet? Why am I the one
Who sees the sad solution - Knows what must be done?
I hope you'll free yourself on your own accord!
You'll save the whole world - is that a bad reward?
You're free, and I'm
Praised for all time!!!
Oh please don't protest me - I know your excuses -
You must understand - Let us argue no more -
We have all that's needed - We lack only power -
You give us that power - and we win the war!
There will be thousands and thousands
Screaming love and praise for ME!
Everyone of all those thousands
Will go to battle after me!
We will break down the Dark Tower
We'll be greater than before!
If I only had that power
I would win the final war!
I'd have the power and the glory
For ever and ever and ever!!!
FRODO: It is such a pity that you haven't
Understood what Gandalf said
Understood what Elrond said
Understood at all…
If you had heard them, O Boromir,
You'd see the truth, but you close your eyes
It closes your eyes
Neither you, Boromir, nor the thousands of thousands,
Nor Minas Tirith nor Rivendell
Nor Lorien, nor the Three, nor the Dwarves nor the Elves
Nor the doomed Middle-earth itself
Can hope to stand if we use the Ring
While we still have It, our troubles are many
We have no hope while the Ring lasts
