"FAQ
Is Craig gay?
Yes
Is there any evidence that he's gay?
Until Craig makes an official statement, nothing is 100% accurate.
I got an email from a fan who has done a lot of research about this and this is what this person came up with:
"As you (me) have noted, we have never seen or heard anything about a girlfriend. He lives or has lived together with Michael Galvin (which doesn't necessarily mean anything, but adds to the whole picture).
He's been in a number of GLBT and related events - he was the host for an AIDS foundation concert, moderated the Hero Parade (NZ gay pride parade) for TV, was the MC and shaved heads at the "Herne Bay House Hair Event" which raises money for the Auckland residential care facility for people with HIV/AIDS (there was an article on gaynz.com), and was a debateer in a Charity Celebrity Debate for the rainbow branch of the Labour party.
MsAllegro from Bag End Inn has said he was the Grand Marshal in a Sydney pride parade, but I have searched the whole internet and haven't been able to confirm this. Someone also said he was interviewed for the "Pacific Rim equivalent" of the Advocate (large US gay mag), but I haven't found anything on that either.
There have been comments on gay NZ newsgroups - see this and this.
I've also heard from a Kiwi that apparently it is widely known, at least to Aucklanders. After RingCon, the topic of course came up on the German message boards as well (unavoidably), and someone asked their friend who is in the film business in NZ, and he said "definitely gay". Also a few of the RingCon crew have said he definitely is, and someone even said they overheard from the organisators that Craig brought his boyfriend (although I have a hard time imagining this - I didn't see anyone with him and he'd have to pay for the flight himself - would that be worth it for a few days where he wouldn't have all that much time for someone else?)
Then, finally, there have been comments in the comedy debates. There were a few occasions where he or his fellow debateers where sort of making fun of gay stereotypes - him going on about his Gucci shoes, or saying he realized he's "too pretty to play rugby" - or someone saying he is so understanding with women, he almost is one himself (paraphrasing).
You could argue about these I guess, but the following one is pretty obvious:
"I have been going through the annals - don't get excited Craig, that's annals ..." - Linda Clark, Great Celebrity Comedy Debate ("We have seen the end of the Golden Weather")
That one can be listened to online at mp3.com, just search for "comedy debate" or "Craig Parker"."
I like to think he is though and the wonderful thing about Craig is that we don't know for sure. It's trully wonderful when an actor can manage to keep his private sexual life ... well, private. Please understand that my opinion is not necessarily that of his other fans and everyone is welcome to their own opinion. Homophobic remarks are not welcome, but mature debate can be posted at The Blue Boards.
Is this a Haldir site?
No, but since Craig was introduced to most of us as Haldir he's a big part of it. Kim runs the official Haldir fanlisting. That's where you want to be if you're after more dead Elf sexiness.
Why did Haldir have to die?
PJ wanted to capture the futility of Elvish intervention during the War of the Ring and make them appeal more to the audience's understanding of mortality in a world populated (at least in part) by immortal creatures. Haldir, after the release of FOTR Extended DVD, was a character people could identify and so his death would not go unmourned.
When was Craig born?
Some websites say he was born 17 July 1970, but it's actually 12 November 1970. He's a Scorpio. See his biography for more information."
