Merseybeat star cops off with King of Middle Earth
AND it came to pass that Aragorn, fabled king of Middle Earth, did fall for . . . WPC Jodie Finn from telly’s Scouse cop saga Merseybeat.
In one of the most unlikely celeb pairings, handsome Lord Of The Rings actor VIGGO MORTENSEN, who plays Aragorn, is dating actress JOSIE D’ARBY from the BBC1 police drama.
The couple were holed up in a Paris hotel all weekend while Hollywood hunk Viggo plugs the final part of the blockbuster Rings movie trilogy.
Former CBBC star Josie — fondly remembered for presenting naff kids’ TV show The Mag on Five, and briefly hosting Top Of The Pops — jetted off to her fella’s side on Friday and had a romantic weekend in his plush suite at the George V hotel on the Champs Elysees.
They only came up for air on Saturday when they attended The Lord Of The Rings cast party in the city.
Excited Josie spoke to a pal about the romance last night. The actress told her: “I first saw Viggo in The Lord Of The Rings. We met through friends and get on really well. I think he’s gorgeous.
“I’m not naive — he’s a big movie star and I don’t expect him to become a permanent boyfriend.
“It’s early days and it may not come to anything . . . but who knows?”
Viggo left Josie’s side to attend the last European premiere of The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King on Sunday night in Denmark.
