Еще одна история от "очевидца". На этот раз с парада в Веллингтоне:
I never get enough of seeing Viggo's pictures, but this one has to be my favorite for many reasons. Last year I managed to fly to Wellington, saw the impressive exhibitions, and indulged in the first Howard Shore LOTR-symphony with all the stars and crew there, and got absolutely spoiled by the added bonus of the sight of a very humble man walking down the stairs to the microphone opposite from where I was. I never forget that buzz of excitement going through the Michael Fowler Centre when we realized that Viggo was actually going to sing during the concert.
And came Monday morning December 1, I was there for a very long and warm wait to experience the world premiere of ROTK. Viggo's first words over the microphone when asked how many proposals he was going to get that day were: "Bring it on!!" It was obvious that the LOTR-people were relaxed and enjoying themselves in their tribute to Wellington. A young boy standing in front of me had made a beautiful sword and Viggo admired it for quite a while, talking to the boy and then signing the sword (that's the photo). This boy had been holding an apple in his hand for about 6 hours. He was going to give it to Billy for his 'second breakfast'. But Billy was on the other side of the red carpet, and so this boy told Viggo the story and asked to give the apple to Billy. Viggo politely declined and was then whisked away by security. As I kept looking at Viggo I saw that he very gentle and gracious moved away from the security man towards Billy Boyd. Viggo put his arm around Billy's shoulder and gently pointed and steered him in the direction of the boy with the apple, who got his wish! This photo, made with my auntie's little camera, is my very favorite because it is a symbol of a day that probably a lot of people, including the whole LOTR-team and Viggo, will remember for ever. And I was there!
