PJ: "We had fun casting that scene, 'cause we basically wanted to get extras that were the most unusual, odd, seedy-looking people that we could possibly find. Because I thought Bree was a really great moment to make the hobbits feel very much like a 'fish out of water', that they are not in the Shire any more. They are not in the safety of their own world, I wanted to try to make it feel ominous."

PJ: "The interiour of the Prancing Pony in Bree - I wanted all the colours there, big fire, you know, flickering in the pub. And I wanted it not a warm yellow, sort of orangy-cosy fire, I wanted it to be a sickly-green colour. You know, urine-stained, sort of look. Because the hobbits have to feel uncomfortable, it's an ugly pub, it's not a happy place."

А насчет того, что Арагорна не пустили в "Гарцующий Пони" я бы посоветовал почитать классиков:
"Suddenly Frodo noticed that a strange-looking weather-beaten man, sitting in the shadows near the wall, was also listening intently to the hobbit-talk. He had a tall tankard in front of him, and was smoking a long-stemmed pipe curiously carved. His legs were stretched out before him, showing high boots of supple leather that fitted him well, but had seen much wear and were now caked with mud. A travel-stained cloak of heavy dark-green cloth was drawn close about him, and in spite of the heat of the room he wore a hood that overshadowed his face; but the gleam of his eyes could be seen as he watched the hobbits."
