Письмо 257: "I returned to Oxford in Jan. 1926, and by the time The Hobbit appeared (1937) this 'matter of the Elder Days' was in coherent form. The Hobbit was not intended to have anything to do with it. I had the habit while my children were still young of inventing and telling orally, sometimes of writing down, 'children's stories' for their private amusement— according to the notions I then had, and many still have, of what these should be like in style and attitude... The Hobbit was intended to be one of them. "

Потом - согласен, связь с "Квэнта" стала всё более чёткой и осознанной. Даже имена и названия, которые "проскользнули" в "Хоббит", нельзя признавать полностью тождественными именам и названиям из "Квэнта". В том же письме - хороший пример с Эльрондом:

"The passage in Ch. iii relating him to the Half-elven of the mythology was a fortunate accident, due to the difficulty of constantly inventing good names for new characters. I gave him the name Elrond casually, but as this came from the mythology (Elros and Elrond the two sons of Earendel) I made him half-elven. Only in The Lord was he identified with the son of Earendel, and so the great- grandson of Luthien and Beren, a great power and a Ringholder."

Поэтому, как я считаю, глядеть на "Хоббита" через "призму" ВК - вполне обоснованно. Если стиль (или, если угодно, дух) "Хоббита"-фильма будет в чём-то подгоняться под стиль ВК-фильма, то я не назову это каким-то неприемлемым отступлением от Текста (потому что, собственно, и сам Текст создавался аналогично). Таким образом, _радикальный_ пуризм (а я причисляю себя к умеренным пуристам) я здесь считаю неуместным.
И,как вижу из Вашего первого поста в этой теме, в таком мнении мы с Вами полностью сошлись :-)
