Meeting Richard Armitage

After weeks of waiting, there it was, the moment i left my hostel at Kings Cross, to make my way to the Old Vic. Premiere day of the Crucible. I was shaking while getting dresses and over excited for days.
Like all days I saw several posters at the underground stations in London. That made me think to get some water to cool down, cause honestly, who can stay calm if seeing Richard Armitage?

I arrived perfectly in time, about one hour early at the Old Vic. I had been there before, but nothing could prepare me to see so many posters and advertising for the Crucible outside! Oh my *** i thought. I had to take several selfies. At least one with each poster and especially the one he seems to be topless.
People started arriving as well and it was awesome to see so many ladies doing pics in front of Richards posters.
So I went inside to get my ticket. And this was rather easy. Picked up my ticket for July last month, but this time they just asked for my surname without even checking. Quite shocking I thought as so many people new I was going that day!!
But as we couldn't get in already, I went back outside to enjoy the sun and obviously the advertising. I so got lost starring at one Poster, when this Brasilian girl, studying in Newcastle, Mariana started talking to me. As always I discovered that other Army Ladies are great company and so we talked about lots of stuff. About how she had met Richard before and about when I saw him last year at the Berlin premiere of DoS.
At about 7.00 pm we went inside and cued to get some posters and a program. When I said I wanted all of them, the said there would be two posters, which made me thinking. But then thankfully, another staff lady found the third, and most important poster, the half naked one! We then met another girl from Norwich and talked some more, before actually going into the Stalls.

I was able to get hold of a second row ticket, which was a perfect place. It felt like sitting on stage with the actors.

The Old Vic has seats all around the stage, all with a very good view. The stage itself was an oval place in the middle. No extra podium or anything, just in front of us!
I had those two ladies next to me, who actually came to see just the play. And while one of them went through the program, she realized that Richard is so well known. She asked her friend if some of the people attending might be here just because of him? they then switched their conversation to Spooks and I chuckled inside!
The staff guiding people to their places suddenly announced, that the first half of the play will last 2 hours! I was shocked! But in a positive way.

The next bit will be full of Spoilers, so you either stop reading or just drool away!!

On stage they placed chairs, all facing different directions. When the light went out, a light music started. A mysterious atmosphere. At the entrance they had a sign, that they actually burn herbs for a great atmosphere.
All the actors came in at once and they silently went to a chair each. Richard took the chair in the middle of the stage. He was wearing a dark collar-up coat and a dark scarf. He looked as sexy as in one of those fotoshoots.
then they all picked up their chairs and left the stage again.

as there are several directions the actors can come from it's always very interesting where Richard shows up!
He left the stage next to me, and I really had to hold on tight to my own hand as I so desperately wanted to touch him!

then the play actually started. By then I was already freaked out as there was Richard!

The first scene Tituba came in, walking around the stage. With every circle she made it seemed to got heavier for her. Great acting. It's a very intense and emotional play. I have no clue how it is, sitting in one of the higher sections, but sitting next to the actors was like being part of the play.
When they had to change the probs for a set, thy started some music and some of the children or men walked in to get things in place.

We saw those girls carrying in a bed, a table and some chairs. Then the scene started. Betty lying in bed. The whole play is very close to the book. Still there are some moments I was surprised.
To show the upstairs character of the room, they had a trapdoor with a stairway. This was the entrance, Richard used to come into the play.
He looked very well and hot hot hot!! then he started speaking. I actually got goosebumps on my whole body! And I mean the whole body!!

I won't go over every scene, as obviously most of us have read the play. those of you who are able to see the play, gosh, be happy and enjoy it!!!!!

Richard is on stage a lot and trust me, you see everything. The scene with Abigail is awesome. they actually start screaming and slapping each other, they are very close to a kiss, which made me whimper and sometimes the movements are very fast, using the whole stage!
During the play you will see Richard smirking (at least I did), shouting, getting desperate, and crying. And he really cried. When I saw that my heart felt like someone would press it with a bare hand. I wanted to jump from my seat, hugging him and tell him all will be OK again while stroking his hair.

Sometimes, I couldn't help it but think of other rolls Richard played so far. For example, there is a line, when he says "then we shall all burn!" EXCUSE ME???? All burn??? how can he say that without shouting out loud??? Another time, he told them there is no Dragon living in his house! HELLO???? I so wonder, if he also connected those bits with Thorin!
Ohyjeah, Thorin, you all surely remember Thorin in Lake town, when he is looking so f*** sexy. Spider web covering his hair, his eyes facing the ground and then going up. I saw that look!!! I saw it!!!!
He also talked about his followers! Awesome moment!! I felt special.

As i said, the chairs are around the stage, the actors have to try to face every direction during the play. And they did a really great job. When Richard was facing the other side of the room, or even left in this direction, i always shouted in my had, "Look back, look back at me!" (I wanted to say it loud, but I considered it rude!!)

After two hours there was a 20 minute break, where i got in touch with Mariana again. She sat next to Valerie, who was coming all the way from the States to see Richard! WOW By then i was desperate to see more!!

After the break, they set location of Proctors house up. Elisabeth Proctor was introduced and we saw her preparing the evening. then she left and Richard, once again came on stage. He was wearing the same clothes and a old fashioned shotgun!!!
He came in at my side of the stage and took scarf and coat of. then he went to the other side, where Elisabeth set up a tub of water before.
And holy moly, I know there was this rumor, but I was not prepared of him taking his shirt off!!!! TOPLESS MOMENT!!! What the heck??? I thought. And by then I was just seeing his adorable backside!
then, he started washing himself a bit, got a towel and turned around. YES!!!!!! I thought. And then my mind couldn't close. there was chest hair!!! And it wasn't a pic, it was him real, life in front of me. CHEST HAIR!!! I was that close to see it!!!
I was fixed on Richard every second he was on stage. Wasn't really hard and still was able to follow the play.
So then he got dressed again. What a shame, as literally you were able to here the sound of ladies taking in breath to hold it!!!
the scene between John and Elisabeth was interesting. You could sense, that John really loves here, but she did not trust him that much at that point. it slightly changed over the whole play. All the characters are very interesting and the cast is brilliant.

One more moment I want to share, is when they brought John Proctor in after he was tortured. they actually painted blood over his head, his ear, his back and his TOES!!! Some of them seemed very pink!! But looking at his face was like a torture for me. The urge to rescue him was enormously. thank god there was a row in front which hold me back!!
Its very nasty and horrible to see Richard this way. And as he is a brilliant actor, you really feel and see the pain through him!!

One of the last moments is John and Elisabeth on stage again. And they kiss. Gosh they kiss. Richard was actually facing the other direction. But holy moly, WOW!! Once again, inside I screamed "It should have been me!!!"

I don't have to mention they all got standing ovations and well deserved!!!!
Richard even got a little scream as he was standing a little longer on stage then the other actors. just about three seconds. Still. When he walked out, which was in my direction. He smiled!!! *sigh*

When the lights went back on, I rushed over to the girls and we went outside to the stage door. We already had about 25 people in front of us, but we didn't care.
it took little time before the first people went out. After i think was about
30 minutes, suddenly Richard showed up. And he was looking perfect.
He cared about everyone and was very patient. When it was our term to face him, I was shaking again. I thanked him and showed him my red carpet from Berlin. He liked it and signed it! Oh my gosh, it might be the most valuable carpet on this world now, including so many signatures.
I thanked him and Mariana took my camera to make a picture. He put his arm around me and I stopped breathing. That was the moment!!!! OMG We hugged before I stepped aside to take pictures of Mariana and Valerie with Richard. We then waited at the side and I took more and more pictures. WOW

A funny moment was, when actually one girl stood in line again, cause Richard blinked on her pic, and asked for another one. She got it and Richard said, "Oh yeah good advice Don't blink!"
What the...? Crossing my fandoms??? Richard quoting David Tennant alias Doctor Who??
But I had to agree, just imagine he would blink on my pic???

And as many people said before meeting Richard is incredible. His voice is very soft and you really feel how humbled he is. Yeah, he looked tired, but also happy. I loved every second!

Soon after he rushed back inside the theater. But he left me with lots of emotions, feelings and memories. and I can't wait to come back in July, to see him again. (this time I have a seat on the other side which will give a better view on topless John)

Самое занятное, что я все поняла, правда, читала очень медленно.

Ну, мы же не знаем... может, там, на месте, от всего происходящего просто все умные слова улетучиваются. Попыталась представить себе Ричарда на сцене... в метре от зрителя - у меня бы тоже не нашлось слов, наверное.
Минус таких вот отчетов - это недоосмысление. Времени прошло маловато, не улеглась еще первая эмоциональная реакция. Те же люди спустя неделю написали бы, может, умный разбор актерской игры. Но они и о спектакле, в общем-то, пишут.

Но непосредственная эмоциональность - несомненный плюс. Так и чувствуешь атмосферу Ты вся на нервах... вся - ждешь... но ты одна и тебе неуютно... полный зал и все такие серьезные... наверное, ценители, пришли смотреть классику... а ты... на Ричарда посмотреть... две интеллигентные женщины сидят прямо перед тобой, переговариваются тихо... и ты слышишь, что говорят они о Спуксах... и тебе становится легко и весело. Хихикс. Все тут пришли на Ричарда посмотреть, оказывается. Без рубашки
